Detroit, Michigan: naming agency services for small businesses

Detroit naming agency services are provided remotely by Los Angeles-based Names&Naming, a spin-off of Scott Silverman’s branding consultancy, Articulated Brands®. While I certainly don’t mind making the trip back to DTW, it’s important to remember that most creative naming assignments can be completed via email and phone. If you’re open to working with a Detroit native who no longer resides there, I warmly invite you to reach out. I’m also looking to forge dynamic creative collaborations with Detroit marketing agencies, graphic designers and website development companies. Hit me up!

Detroit naming

Since this website page is about Detroit naming, it seems appropriate to talk about the naming of Detroit, Michigan itself.

If naming Detroit was a job given over to the name generation robots or if the naming assignment was tasked to the maddening crowds, we’d probably have a Midwestia or an Autoville on our hands. Fortunately, Detroit’s naming had everything to do with its founding. Detroit’s name was given to it by its French founder, Antoine de la Moth Cadillac. He dubbed it Fort Pontchartrain du Detroit. The word Detroit means strait in French, and the river-side city has long served as a port. While the city has experienced both booms and busts over the past 300 years, today, Detroit is once again revitalizing itself. Start-up and tech investment is up. Tourism is way up. And crime is way down. –Did you know that in 2015 Detroit was named “City of Design” by UNESCO, the first ever U.S. city to be named so? Thanks to a youthful influx, affordable homes and a more balanced industrial mix, the Detroit name is becoming synonymous with “comeback kid.”

Not just Detroit name consulting, positioning and branding! East Lansing, Grand Rapids, Royal Oak and Ann Arbor brand naming, too!

When Detroit’s businesses need cool and catchy company name ideas, unique product name ideas, positioning and branding consulting, as well as copywriting, design and other creative support, they can count on Names & Naming and my brand consultancy, Articulated Brands®, which operates out of Los Angeles. But businesses in Michigan’s other big cities, especially small businesses in Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Royal Oak and Grand Rapids also need help naming and branding. So long as you don’t mind working via telephone and email, I’m happy to serve as your Grand Rapids, East Lansing, Royal Oak and Ann Arbor brand agency, too.
